Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Series: Throne of Glass #2
Published: August 27th 2013

Goodreads Review: An assassin’s loyalties are always in doubt.
But her heart never wavers.

After a year of hard labor in the Salt Mines of Endovier, eighteen-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien has won the king's contest to become the new royal assassin. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown – a secret she hides from even her most intimate confidantes.

Keeping up the deadly charade—while pretending to do the king's bidding—will test her in frightening new ways, especially when she's given a task that could jeopardize everything she's come to care for. And there are far more dangerous forces gathering on the horizon -- forces that threaten to destroy her entire world, and will surely force Celaena to make a choice.

Where do the assassin’s loyalties lie, and who is she most willing to fight for?
My Rating : 5/5 stars

My Review : OMG THIS BOOK!!! IT WAS SO GOOD! THERE WERE SO MANY EMOTIONS! AND THE ENDING! OMG!!!! WOW JUST WOW! GOING ON THE FAVORITES LIST!

Celaena Sardothien is no ordinary girl. Having won the King's competition, she has become the Royal Assassin and in order to win her freedom, she has to kill the people the King asks her to. But her loyalties do not lie with the King, she fakes the deaths of all his targets and helps them flee. When the King gives her a new target, it just so happens to be Archer, Celaena's former crush and friend from her times in the Assassin's Guild. Will she betray her old friend and kill him in order to earn the King's trust, or spare his life and fear the wrath of the King? Not only that, but Elena has placed her on another quest, to find out the source between his power.
Celaena isn't the only one with a problem on her hands. Dorain, after being tossed in the trash and ignored by Celaena. Watching her and Chaol laugh and dance together. He begins to feel new powers. He must learn how to use these new powers, and where exactly did they come from.
As new relationships spark, the action only gets worse. This book is filled with love and action that makes you sit at the edge of your seat.

This book was just amazing! The amount of emotion was just crazy! There were moments where i was just in heaven because of all the cute lovely parts. But there were parts that were so sad and terrifying i was actually shaking. This book did a really good job with mystery and anticipation, there were a few moments in the book where i was actually scared. I've never read a book before that I actually was scared and worried in. I'm not even scared of scary movies, so I was really surprised a book could make me feel like that.

I loved the character development, you get to see so many sides of Celaena. You get to see the happy side of her, where she acts just like any normal girl would, but you also get to see the protective and warrior side of her like never before. She is a very determined character. We also get to see a new side of her, when she completely snaps. I absolutely loved that, you get to see how she deals with death and just what goes on through her head. The author did an amazing job with making her feel like a real person.
I honestly love everything about Celaena, she can be a loving and sweet girl and a great friend. But when someone messes with her you see the crazy warrior side to her, shes athletic, smart, beautiful, and she can kick some ass!
I definitely have a girl crush on Celaena Sardothien!
The author did such an amazing job with this book and series, the world she created is just beautiful and magical. The characters are all so amazing in their own way. Her style of writing fits perfectly with the book. And the mystery and suspense is just a cherry on top. THANK YOU SO MUCH SARAH J. MAAS!

I definitely recommend this book to everyone who read the first book and loved it. I probably don't even have to say that because everyone who read the first book is probably so hooked they don't even have to think twice about buying the next one.

I honestly cant wait till the next one comes out. It better be fast, I NEED MORE!
